We were just wandering, driving around the country side on a nice Saturday evening, when we saw a flock of birds flying loose orbits low in sky and then disappearing into the ground...

Surprised, we drove up to their point of disappearance and lo and behold, we were delightfully surprised to discover a huge cavernous pit which hitherto was not visible. In the centre of this pit was a largish pond filled with shallow water even in the water-less winter months of this dry drought prone area. The pond was a mine of bird and animal activity.

So our lucky spotting and curious follow up during the wandering led to this exploratory personal discovery which later on found us spending quite some evenings and mornings just sitting by its shores.
